Houston, Texas: Cokinos | Young is proud to announce a significant courtroom victory as its trial team recently obtained a complete defense verdict on behalf of its client, Ring Energy, Inc. (NYSE: REI), in response to over $50 million in alleged damages asserted by EPUS Permian Assets, LLC in a substantive energy dispute. The breach-of-contract and fraud-based allegations arose from a failed oil and gas transaction involving assets valued at over $30 million in the Permian Basin.

However, after years of litigation, substantial discovery, and a hard-fought jury trial over the course of a week, the jury returned a verdict awarding Plaintiff $0.00 – a total defense verdict. The case was tried in the 11th Judicial District Court of Harris County, Texas.
