Biography
Roland is an attorney in the New York/New Jersey office of Cokinos | Young. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Boston College in 2011. Roland attended Rutgers School of Law, from which he obtained his J.D. in 2014.
Roland focuses his practice on Civil Litigation, with an emphasis on Construction Litigation, representing the interests of owners, general contractors, subcontractors and suppliers in New York, New Jersey and Federal Courts.
Roland also has significant experience in personal injury matters, including actions involving claims of wrongful death and catastrophic injury. Roland has represented the interests of municipalities, hospitals, and owners of commercial premises in various personal injury actions.

Representative Experience
- Secured defense verdict and award of attorneys’ fees and costs on behalf of prominent general contractor following extended trial in multimillion dollar action in Supreme Court of New York, Nassau County.
- Obtained arbitration award for full claim on behalf of New Jersey client in residential construction dispute, including treble damages and attorneys’ fees for proving violations of New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act.
- Obtained favorable settlement during trial as second chair in action representing prominent New York general contractor.
- Obtained summary judgment on behalf of hospital client regarding defense against a hospital and physician regarding a matter involving claims of medical malpractice and vicarious liability.
- Obtained summary judgment on behalf of municipal client in personal injury matter involving claims of negligence and gross negligence against a New York Fire District.
