Biography
Nick is a skilled construction attorney with substantial experience advising clients through all phases of a construction project. He routinely drafts and negotiates complex construction, design, and development agreements. He also counsels clients on the full range of project-related legal issues, strategies, obligations, and risks that may arise from preconstruction through closeout, including insurance coverage issues. Should litigation or arbitration be required, Nick is an accomplished civil trial attorney with a proven record of favorable results in state and federal courts. He has secured numerous dismissals and summary judgments in disputes involving construction defects, delay claims, mechanic’s liens, breach of contract, and professional liability. His representative clients include general contractors, subcontractors, and design professionals. Nick strives to respond quickly and efficiently to clients’ questions and issues. He aims to build long-term relationships with the clients he serves by delivering direct, actionable answers and practical solutions.

Representative Experience
- Represented general contractors and larger subcontractors in several construction defect lawsuits and other matters involving dispute management and avoidance, liens, and contract drafting.
- Represented water authority in lawsuit involving payment disputes with the design-builder of the nearly two-billion-dollar Northeast Water Purification Plant Expansion Project, in which amount in dispute exceeded $25 million.
- Represented developer in multi-million-dollar arbitration proceeding asserted against it by financing developer arising out of design and construction defects involving a multi-family development.
- Represented owner in lawsuit involving delay and construction defects related to several apartment complexes impacted by winter storm Uri.
- Drafted, orally argued, and successfully obtained summary judgment on appeal in a lawsuit asserted against an architect.
