Biography
Jake Peters is an attorney in the Houston office of Cokinos | Young. Jake’s practice is focused on construction and business related disputes through litigation and arbitration. Jake has substantive experience in these sectors, including with large capital projects, real estate developments, pipelines, industrial plants, and mass transportation infrastructure. Jake received his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center in May 2022. While in law school, Jake served as Vice President of the Corporate and Tax Law Society (for two years) and was a member of the Consumer and Commercial Law Journal. As an undergraduate at the University of Texas, Jake majored in Economics and earned a Business Foundations Certificate from the Texas McCombs School of Business.

- Lead associate on dispute involving the construction and development of a luxury high-rise condominium project, which was resolved via a favorable settlement for the client following successful motion practice.
- Lead associate on an 8-figure multi-party construction dispute regarding a large government transportation project.
- Lead associate on a dispute involving the construction of power transmission lines across the State of Texas.
- Assisted in an 8-figure industrial construction dispute.
- Substantive experience with delay claims, defect claims, lien claims, contract disputes, and related construction and business matters.
