Biography
Joe Bryant is an experienced litigator and trial attorney who is Board Certified in Construction Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Joe represents owners, general contractors, and subcontractors, including government and private entities, in construction and commercial disputes as well as contract negotiations.
Joe has extensive trial and arbitration experience, including several first- and second-chair trials and arbitrations, and he is a zealous advocate for his clients from initial negotiations through trial. Joe has secured numerous positive results for his clients through dispositive motions, favorable final verdicts, and beneficial settlement agreements.
Joe works with clients throughout a construction project, from initial negotiations and contract drafting to post-construction disputes, while providing advice on risk-mitigation strategies to help his clients avoid disputes through properly drafted contract terms and company policies. He has counseled domestic and international clients through disputes and transactions related to construction projects across multiple industries, including:
- public/private utilities and infrastructure,
- refining and manufacturing,
- shipping and logistics,
- student housing and multifamily development, and
- other commercial, retail, and residential developments.
Joe works with clients throughout a construction project, from initial negotiations and contract drafting to post-construction disputes, while providing advice on risk-mitigation strategies to help his clients avoid disputes through properly drafted contract terms and company policies.
Before attending law school, Joe worked for several years as a software developer, and he brings the same meticulous and efficient approach to legal issues that helped him excel in that role. In addition to his legal work, Joe is an active community member and is involved in local government. Joe currently serves on the board for the Firefly Mud #2, a local government subdivision in Montgomery, Texas.

- Obtained a take-nothing verdict with attorney’s fees in favor of an owner/developer who was sued by a general contractor for non-payment in arbitration.
- Obtained a favorable settlement on behalf of a homeowner in a residential construction defect case.
- Obtained a favorable settlement for a real estate client seeking a receivership over the properties and assets of several related entities and individuals.
- Obtained a full dismissal of all claims against a group of corporate clients in a wrongful death lawsuit.
- Obtained a favorable defense verdict for a general contractor in AAA arbitration.
- Obtained summary judgment on behalf of a general contractor client, resulting in a full defense verdict.
- Obtained the dismissal of all claims against a construction manufacturing client through the Texas Citizen’s Participation Act.
- Obtained a full dismissal of all claims against a local government entity’s Board of Directors who had been sued in their individual capacities.
- Obtained numerous favorable settlements on behalf of contractor clients involved in payment disputes and collection matters.
- Assisted numerous clients with lien and bond claims that resulted in the payment of past-due balances.
