At Cokinos | Young, providing training to our attorneys that equips them with the level of trial advocacy skills required to champion our client’s cases is our highest priority.
This year, Cokinos | Young launched a formal Trial Advocacy Program—a comprehensive, 3-week training program followed by a mock trial focusing on trial advocacy and excellence in the courtroom. We believe the best way to learn is by doing, and this training program provides our associates with the hands-on experience they need to excel not just as litigators, but as true trial lawyers. The Cokinos | Young Trial Advocacy Program was designed by principals of the firm with decades of trial experience, who along with our professional development team bring decades of trial experience into the training room for our lawyers. Each week of the program, our partners lead a series of extensive workshops covering the major aspects of trial, culminating in a live mock trial exercise ranging from jury selection to closing arguments.
The firm’s Houston office is equipped with a fully functional and adaptive mock trial room complete with a judge’s bench, jury box and state-of-the-art technology, so practicing in the office replicates being in a real courtroom.
